With restrictions easing, we know many of you are eager to meet up in person and we cannot wait to meet you! We also understand how accessible the Zoom format was last year and want to make the Investment Society accessible to all regardless of your circumstances and to fit in with your busy schedules!
So, we will be running a dual system this year. This means that although our Investing 101, Careers 101, Applications 101, and Skills 101 sessions will go ahead in person where possible, they will also be streamed over Zoom for those at home to watch. Also, remember to check out our YouTube channel where you will find recordings of our previous 101 sessions!
The schedule for this year:
Every Monday 7-8pm: Investing 101
Every Thursday 7-8pm: One of Careers 101, Applications 101, Skills 101.
Here we have split the 101 series into two sections: one to develop your knowledge and one to prepare you for your future career. If you attend every session of a section for the term, you get a certificate!
Additionally, there will be prize giveaways and free pizza during some of the 101 sessions throughout the year. Plus, some of the 101 sessions will give you the opportunity to meet inspirational guest speakers!
What are the 101 sessions lined up?
Investing 101: develop your investment knowledge through engaging presentations suitable for all levels of knowledge!
Careers 101: find out about the careers open to you in the finance and investment sector, hear from guest speakers in the field and attend networking sessions like the 'Speed Dating' event run last year.
Applications 101: prepare for spring insight weeks, internships, graduate programmes and future careers through applications advice.
Skills 101: develop the skills you need to break into the industry, or to prepare you for whatever path you choose.
We cannot wait to see you all there, in person or on Zoom.
Please note when getting your free ticket via our website that if the tickets have not been posted yet it will say sold out. That just means we will be posting tickets closer to the time. If, however, it is the day of the event and it says sold out that will mean the event itself is sold out.
The tickets online are free to RSVP however if you are not a society member you will need to pay £1 on the door to get in. If you are a member then entrance will be free. Tickets are to secure a seat as there may be a limited capacity.
